Should we use the same photographer for our engagement session and wedding?

Congratulations! The question was popped and you said “yes!” Now what? After you share the good news with your loved ones, it’s time to start thinking about capturing your special moment.

Whether you are planning on using these photos for “Save the Date” cards, as part of your wedding decor, or just want a nice picture to hang in your home, engagement sessions can be a great (and fun) learning experience. Your engagement photos and wedding photos should be some of your favorite, and most important, photographs.

Using the same photographer for your engagement and wedding can be very worthwhile to you as the couple. The engagement session can help put you at ease with the photographer(s) and make you feel more comfortable about their part in your wedding day.

The engagement photo session is a good time to work out all the kinks. Figuring out things such as what kind of photos to you like best or what types of poses work best for you and your partner is beneficial to do before the wedding day. Since your actual wedding day will be hectic, already knowing what to expect from the photographer can make you feel more relaxed when it comes time for the portrait session.

Do your best to communicate with your photographer early on so your photos can be the best they can be. We want you to love these photographs almost as much as you love your new spouse!
